DIMAPUR — The NSCN (IM) Naga Army on Saturday bade farewell to ‘General’ Ningkhan Shimray who had shouldered the responsibility of the commander-in-chief (Longvibu) for the past eight years.
He was accorded a grand military guard of honour upon his retirement from military service after 45 years in the army, an update from the NSCN (IM) stated.
Meanwhile, ‘Lt. Gen.’ Honreishang Shadang has succeeded as the new Longvibu of the Naga Army. The ceremony of handing and taking charge was presided over by Keya Kilonser Zeneituo James Pienyu, in the presence of dignitaries and army officers at GHQ Church.
Pastor Diginbou invoked God's blessings and pronounced the prayer of submission for both the outgoing and the incoming Longvibu.
