Home Guards trained in Disaster Response basics

Dimapur, Feb. 27: A training event on disaster-response was conducted for Home Guards personnel performing duty under various static duty post under Kohima jurisdiction from February 23 and till February 27 at the SDRF camp in Kohima. 64 personnel completed the training, a press release from the organisers informed on Monday. The trainers were from the district SDRF (HGs & CD) led by SI Vingutuo, the updates informed. The subjects aimed at creating awareness, and to impart skills and facilitate deeper understanding on the importance and application of Basic Life Support, basic First Aid for bleeding control (using bandages), splinting of fracture; use of fire extinguishers and emergency methods of rescue. The training will be imparted to other Home Guards including district ministerial staff on February 28, the organisers informed. 45 participants have been nominated for the training, the press release added.
