Nagaland Home department appoints DCs for 3 new districts

Kohima, Dec 21 (EMN): Following the State Cabinet’s decision for the formation of three new districts-- Tseminyu, Niuland and Chumoukedima -- on December 18, the Government of Nagaland on Tuesday appointed three Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers as deputy commissioners of the new districts.

A notification issued by the department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, personnel 'A' Branch stated, "In the Interest of public service, The Governor of Nagaland is pleased to order transfer and posting of the following IAS officers with immediate effect".

The additional secretary, Home, Dr. Zasekoulie Chusi is transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Tseminyu, while ADC Pungro Abhinav Shivam is transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Chumoukedima and ADC Tuensang Ajit Kumar is transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Niuland.

New jurisdictions for the districts

Accordingly, on December 20 the Home department in another notification stated that Tseminyu sub-division is being upgraded to a full-fledged district with immediate effect; and added that the jurisdiction of the new district would comprise the existing Tseminyu sub-division under Kohima district, Nagaland.

 It also notified that Niuland sub-division is being upgraded to a full-fledged district with immediate effect while the jurisdiction would comprise  the existing Niuland sub-division under Dimapur district, Nagaland.

Meanwhile the Government had also notified the creation of Chumoukedima district with headquarters at Chumoukedima.

The government had also notified that the district of Chumoukedima would comprise of the following areas:  Existing administrative area of Medziphema sub-division under Dimapur District;

(ii) Existing administrative area of Dhansiripar sub-division under Dimapur district; and

(iii) Administrative area of Seithekema EAC Circle, under Dimapur district covering villages and town namely Aoyim, Bade, Chekiye, Chumoukedima 'A', Chumoukedima town, Chumoukedima village, Diezephe, Diphupar 'B', Diphupar village, Ikishe, Khopanala, Khriezephe, Kirha, Murise, Naga United, Seitheke 'A', Seitheke 'B' (New), Seitheke 'C' , Seitheke Old,  Seluophe, Shokhuvi, Singrijan, Sodzulhou, Sovima, Tenyiphe-I, Tenyiphe-II, Thilixu, Toulazouma, Tsithrongse, Unity, Urra, Vidima, Virazouma, 5th Mile Model, 7th Mile Model, 7th Mile Village and Tir.

Consequent upon the creation of Chumoukedima district, and upgrading of Niuland sub-division to a full-fledged district, the Government also notified in an order the re-organisation of Dimapur district as comprising the existing Dimapur Sadar area and the town and villages earlier covered under Seithekema EAC circle namely Aoyimti, Bamunpukhri A, Bamunpukhri B, Darogajan, Darogapathar, Doshehe, Dubagaon,  East Dimapur town, Ekhyoyan (erstwhile Domokhia), Ekranipathar, Eralibil, Khusiabil, L Hotovi,  Padumpukhri, Purana Bazaar B, Samaguri, Shozukhu, Toluvi and Zani.
