State Home Minister, Y Patton, called upon the State police force to remain vigil to maintain law and order and to create peaceful and conducive environment irrespective of their posting in the State.
The Home Minister said this during interaction with the police officers serving in Tuensang including DIG (R/NAP) Tuensang, Tokiumong, Superintendent of Police RV Ezung and CO 3rd NAP Rhovisie.
In a first of its kind tour, State Home Minister Y Patton is visiting all the Police units in the State to discuss their problems and to boost the morale of the force.
On May 6, Patton visited Tuensang accompanied by the DGP LL Doungel, IGP (R/NAP) LB Lemtur and Engineer of Police Engineering Project Alichen, Hutoshe Sumi.
Later, Patton also visited Shamator sub-division and interacted with CO 15 Assam Rifles Col. Vineet Jaiswal, ADC Shamator Wonchio Odyuo and officers of IRB. Meanwhile, the DGP appreciated the role played by the security forces in augmenting the strength of the police and administration in the district. The Home Minister and his team would also visit Kiphire and Phek.
On May 5, the Home Minister inaugurated a new Officer’s Mess building at District Executive Force (DEF), Zunheboto. He was accompanied by State DGP, LL Doungel; IGP (HQ) Bendang Lemtur, and former Parliamentary Secretary, Dr. KC Nihoshe and host of officials.
The minister also interacted with the police personnel at SP Office. During the interaction session, Superintendent of Police, Zunheboto, Khrodi Rhetso, apprised the minister on the grievances of the police force in Zunheboto district.
The minister and the entire entourage later headed to 8th NAP, Battalion, Naltoqa.
