Kohima, April 22 (EMN): The 40-year-old man hit by a speeding truck, on Easter Sunday, succumbed to injuries at a hospital in Kohima at 5 pm, on April 22.
Boynao Singh was seriously injured when a truck driver driving “under the heavy influence of alcohol” hit him on the roadside of NH-29, near Ladies Mile Rd. in Kohima on April 21. The truck driver was arrested and a case registered against him at North Police Station, Kohima.
According to PRO Kohima police, the dead body will be taken to his native Khurai village in Imphal, Manipur. The accused, Limlemong Sangtam (21) is in police custody. The case will be forwarded to the court on April 22, the PRO said.
