Imphal, Jan. 8 (EMN): Assam Hockey lost again to Central Secretariat by 1-3 goals on the second day of the ongoing 8th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2018 at Khuman Lampak Astro Turf Hockey Stadium in Khuman Lampak Sports Complex in Imphal on Monday.
In their first match on the opening day of the championship which was formally inaugurated on Sunday, they lost to Telangana Hockey (3-8).
Assam Hockey which is led by its coach Rajesh Boro is scheduled to meet Sports Authority of India, the fourth team in pool A in their pool match on Jan. 12.
There are a total of eight pools. Each pool has four teams. Thus altogether, 32 teams from across the country are participating in the championship which is being organised by Manipur Hockey under the aegis of Hockey India.
In other matches of the day, Sahastra Seema Bal was defeated by Chhattisgarh Hockey 4-2 goals while Hockey Puducherry beat Goans Hockey by 13-1 goals. In the day’s last match, Bengaluru Hockey Association beat Hockey Bihar by a huge goal margin.
