DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 5: While extending warm greeting to all on the occasion of Durga Puja, the Hindu Seva Samiti has appealed to all the Puja committees to follow the guidelines issued by the Office of Commissioner of Police on September 28 as well as Nagaland Pollution Control Board.
The Samiti, in a release, today stated that this year, all Puja pandals should maintain maximum cleanliness in and around the pandals in accordance with “Swach Bharat Abhiyan”. It also directed all concerned to maintain public peace and tranquillity during the celebration and instructed the Puja pandals to use sound systems in a controlled manner to avoid any disturbances to anyone.
Further, the Samiti directed the officer bearers of all Puja committees to be present in their respective Puja pandals and maintain law and order to avoid any untoward incident during this holy festival.
As the administration also cautioned against anti-social activities and threat perception, the Samiti asked all the office bearers of respective Puja pandals, volunteers and devotees to keep close vigil on any unclaimed articles, vehicles, etc., and take the help of police as and when required. For convenience of administration, it directed the Puja committees to provide contact number of one of the committee members to the nearest police station for coordination.
On October 11, all the Puja pandals vehicles are requested to line up with the idols at City Tower junction for proceeding towards Immersion Ghat at 8.30 am. To avoid traffic hassles, all Puja committees have been directed to control their volunteers and any dance that may disturb or block the traffic. If any committee violates the directive, police will take stringent action for which Hindu Seva Samiti will not be held responsible, the release warned.
