Hindu Seva Samiti, Dimapur, observed the 5244th birth anniversary of Lord Shree Krishna with enthusiasm on September 6 which was also marked by Rathayatra (procession).
In the morning at 9AM, devotees undertook Rathayatra (procession) from Dimapur Kalibari and culminated at Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Dimapur. In the procession, hundreds of persons mostly youth joined enthusiastically. At 12 Noon, a religious congregation took place at Bharat Sevashram Sangha auditorium, where Santosh Shastri from Arya Samaj, Dimapur, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The convenor of Hindu Seva Samiti, Dimapur, delivered the welcome speech, in which, he explained the importance of Rath (Chariot).
He also conveyed gratitude to various organizations in general and the administrative authority of Dimapur for their whole-hearted co-operation.
The Dharma Sabha was inaugurated by Hashim Bay, where he stressed on the significance of Krishna Janmasthami being celebrated by Hindu Seva Samiti.
Sister Dibya from Brahmakumari, Dimapur, opined that Shri Krishna is the incarnation of peace, truth and religion, while Shastriji from Jain Samaj stressed on the unity of the whole society by citing the examples of Shri Krishna, Lord Buddha and Lord Mahavira, and Jagadamba Mall stressed upon discipline and systematized society.
Pankaj Sina of Janajati Shikha Samiti also spoke on the occasion.
A grand cultural programme added the gaiety of the occasion, in which Dimapur Music College, Gamadi Vidya Bharati, Dhanshripar, Janajati Bikash Samiti, Dimapur, and others presented the cultural items.
The programme was attended by the various Hindu community leaders from different Samajs of Dimapur.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs Sanjukta Bhattacharjee, while the programme was conducted by Ashim Sarkar, Babu Ghosh, Jewel Acharjee, Abhijit Bhattacharjee and others.
