
DIMAPUR — Advisor of Prisons and Printing and Stationery and chairman of Kohima district planning and development board (DPDB), Kropol Vitsu, has suggested highlighting the reality of any project or scheme to the public for better understanding, cooperation and better result.
Vitsu stated this during the monthly DPDB meeting held in its conference hall on Thursday. He also requested the legislators of Kohima district to come up with suitable mechanism and work plans to be done on priority in order to move forward in all round developmental activities.
He further urged the members to be dedicated, active and cooperate in any given opportunity for the developmental activities, stated a DIPR report.
Participating in the discussion, the additional superintendent of police, Relo Aye, highlighted on the rise of sale of Korean beverages, which contain high percentage of alcohol in the market.

The administrator of Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), T Lanusenla Longkumer, gave a presentation on "Meri Life Mera Swachh Shehar” campaign, a cleanliness drive to reduce, reuse and recycle (RRR), which is underway from May 15 till June 5. She stated that under the campaign, one RRR centre would be setup in every ward in the city to collect plastic items, old books, used clothes and footwear and any other items which would be further refurbished, reuse or process.
The administrator requested the members to spread the message to all concerned and contribute the said items to the volunteers like NGOs, SHGs, Swachh TULIP intern, RWA members and citizen volunteers.

In the meeting, the 10 Northern Angami-I Village Adoption Committee was awarded for best performance, while the first runner-up and second runner-up were awarded to 8 Western Angami and 14 Southern Angami-I respectively.
The winning teams also shared their experiences and challenges while performing the developmental activities. Suggestions were also presented and requests were made to the DPDB for follow up actions.
