Chumoukedima emerged champions of the 29th Winter Cricket Challenge, securing
their title for the third consecutive time.
- In a thrilling final match, Highlander defeated LCYO. After
winning the toss, Highlander opted to field and restricted LCYO to 94/7 in 20
overs. LCYO's batting line-up struggled, with only Nzanthung (13) and Mhajan
Patton (19) reaching double figures. Asif led the bowling attack for
Highlander, claiming 2 wickets in his 4 overs while conceding just 9 runs.
- Highlander's chase was anchored by Hiketo Aye, who scored 43
runs, and supported by Nagaho Chishi, with an unbeaten 12 runs. Highlander
chased down the target in 14.1 overs, winning the match by 6 wickets. Hiketo
Aye was named Man of the Match.
- The event also saw the induction of four new members into
the Senior Noble Klan, namely Abemo Kikon, Mhalo Patton, Kiran Verma (Delhi),
and Chenibemo Ngullie.
- The winners of the tournament received INR 1 lakh and the
runner-up took home INR 50,000, certificates and medals.
- The semi-finalists, Juggernaut CC and Rising Star, each
received a cash award of INR 5,000. Hiketo Aye of Highlander Chümoukedima was
declared the Man of the Tournament.
