High School Daredevils today retained the champions title of 2nd 10-Northern Angami-I T20 Bash for the second consecutive time.
The tournament was organized by Brotherhood Group under the theme “Bat for Unity” woth the patronage of local MLA of the constituency and Parliamentary for Youth Resources & Sports, Music Task Force and New & Renewable Energy, Khriehu Liezietsu.Competing against arch rivals, North Block Warriors in the final match yet again, High School Daredevils emerged champions by 9 wickets to take away Rs. 50,000 cash prize along with glittering trophy and citation.
Having to bowl, the defending champs restricted opponents at 120 runs downing 8 wickets in 20 overs with Wapang contributing highest 25 runs. Their bowler Hpkaito claimed three rival wickets giving away 33 runs in 4 overs.
Requiring a run rate of barely 6 runs per over, defending champs achieved it in 13.4 overs losing single wicket. Anga contributed highest 53 runs in 51 balls while Inito also scored 34 runs in 29 balls to win clinch the trophy by 9 wickets. Anga was adjudged the man of the final match.
Runners-up North Block Warriors had to be satiated with Rs. 30,000 also with trophy and citation.
Other individual awards of the tournament include: Fair Play Team: P. Khel Eagles; Emerging Player: Khriesavituo of North Block Warriors; Highest Run Scorer: Abhijit Saha of North Block Warriors with 205 runs; Highest Wicket Taker – Hokaito of HS Daredevils with 11 wickets and Man of the Tournament: Hokaito of HS Daredevils.
Gracing the final match, Parliamentary Secretary Khriehu Liezietsu gave away the awards to the winners.
Marking the occasion, DGP Band entertained the spectators with live music during and after the final match.
Convener Organising Committee kethosituo Mepfu-o and member Keviselhou Belho led the valedictory function.
