Dimapur, August 28 (EMN): One person, a pedestrian, was critically injured in Mon town after a police personnel who was allegedly driving in an inebriated state hit the victim with his car on August 24.
A delayed report through a press release from the Chenwetnyu Students’ Union informed that at around 3:00 PM of on the fateful day, the "ASI In-charge of Police Thana Chen Headquarters was driving in an inebriated state in Mon town, near Konyak Students’ Union office, when he hit one W. Winlao, JE, PWD (Roads & Bridges) from behind while the latter was walking on the footpath."
The victim was critically injured, informed the CSU in a press release from its General Secretary, Wakho, and Vice President Shaboh. He is now been shifted to the Zion Hospital in Dimapur.
The union also stated that the accused who was driving a Maruti car, was in possession of "Spasmo Proxyvon" capsules which, they said, is in “utter violation of law and condemned his actions.
A case has been filed against the accused in Mon town police station.
