
Dimapur, April 24 (EMN): In view of the nationwide lockdown extension and on direction of the principal seat, the limited court functioning of the Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, has resumed from April 20.
In this regard, the court has appointed Registrar (Judicial) EL Watty, system officer Francis Sote, and programme Arnento Asumi as nodal officers.
In a notification, Registrar of Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, Neiko Akami informed that for sending and receiving requests for urgent hearing of matters, the email id-recnahckohinia09mail.com has been created.
“The learned counsels are required to give intimation to the Computer Cell, 3 (working) days prior to the proposed hearing to anyone of the nodal officers,” the notification added.
Cases are to be filed in the manner as already in vogue. It added that the index of each case is required to clearly give the nature of document, page number etc. and petition is required to be sequentially page numbered.
The counsels have also been asked to “submit cogent reasons for such urgent listing of matters via e-mail in the format Annexure I and the same should be placed before the concerned judge holding a particular roster on a given date,” it stated. It added that if the judge consider the matter as of urgent nature, the same would be listed before the court as per the process mentioned.
The district courts have also been directed to make necessary arrangements of video conferencing facility for taking up of urgent matters.
It mentioned that cases are being taken up through video conference facility. On April 22, a total of 5 cases were listed, the notification stated.
