Department of Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) bade farewell to its outgoing officers namely Dr. Sukhato A Sema, Principal Director, and Dr. NM Kithan, Director (Health), on April 30 in the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima.
Dr. Yankho Lotha, Mission Director (NHM), chaired the programme, while an invocation prayer was pronounced by Dr. Vikeyie Losu, Joint Director.
Dr. Watikala, Director (FW), and the incoming Principal Director delivered the farewell speech for the two officers. Dr. Watikala, in her speech, lauded the two officers for reaching the goal in good health. She mentioned that it is a day to rejoice and recount the past 35 years of hard labour and service they had rendered towards the department.
She said the two officers, through their efficiency, kept the department going against all odds. She finally congratulated the two officers for serving the department to the best of their ability.
Special numbers were presented by NSACS and NHM. Voluntary speeches for the two officers were also delivered from well wishers from the directorate as well as the districts.
Outgoing Principal Director, Dr. Sukhato A Sema, said retirement is not the end of the journey but the beginning of a new life. He advised that we should always learn to listen more, speak less, work more and have confidence in God and target to achieve the goal through excellence.
The programme ended with a benediction pronounced by Dr. Puse Liegise, Deputy Director.
