
Successful candidates with the village council chairman,
head GB and others at Dihoma village on Wednesday.
- KOHIMA — To
foster unity and honour the achievements of several village members, the Dihoma
Village Council convened a programme on Wednesday at the Dihoma Village
Panchayat Hall.
- Speaking at the event, Thepfuneilhou Yashü, chairman of the
Dihoma Village Council, informed attendees of rules stating that the village
has banned the use of air guns, and hunting within the village land is
prohibited for non-village members to protect wildlife and forests.
- He also informed that there will be strict enforcement of
Inner Line Permits (ILP) for all non-local individuals entering the village for
work or trade and that the sale of liquor, tobacco, and gambling is prohibited.
- Neisiezo Theünuo, extra assistant commissioner (EAC),
recalled his journey in pursuing competitive exams, sharing how he failed in
his initial attempts at the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) exams and
how he succeeded in his third attempt, securing the position of secretary
assistant. However, his aspiration was to become an EAC, so he chose to try
again. Though he failed in his fourth attempt, he made a fifth attempt and
finally achieved his goal in 2024.

Yano, retired additional secretary, in his keynote address
emphasised the importance of preserving village heritage, fostering unity, and
cultivating moral integrity. He also spoke on the village's historical
background and the need for educated people to lead the village forward. He
highlighted the critical importance of preserving Dihoma's rich cultural
heritage, reminding attendees of the sacrifices made by their forefathers.
- He stressed the need for fostering unity among residents,

He also provided a historical background of the village, elaborating on how it
had evolved, and emphasised the need for educated people to lead the village
into the future, replacing the warriors of the past with educated leaders of
the present.
