The Hornbill International Music Festival 2015 at Hockey Ground, Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, will culminate on December 10 evening.
The concluding programme titled ‘Heralding Christmas’ will have the participation of local artistes, mostly soloists. The attendees on Thursday will experience a taste of gospel music, particularly Christmas songs, as in a way to welcome the festive season.
The artiste line-up includes Noune Noune Kuotsu, Virie & Zaza, Oren Mozhui, Mengu Suokhrie, Power Faith, Incipit, Sunep Ensemble Band, James Basnet Band and Chakhesang Baptist Church, Ministers’ Hill, Kohima.
“Despite the social unrest and upheaval in our State, let this night be a time to send the message of ‘peace’ to the rest of the world,” said Gugs Chishi, project director, Music Task Force, adding that the concept of the programme was mainly framed on this note.Stating that the programme ‘Heralding Christmas’ is being organized to welcome the Christmas season, the MTF project director has invited everyone, particularly churches, to come and be a part of the gospel evening in welcoming the Christmas season.
Day-nine of HIMF (Wednesday) was arranged for ‘Country & Blues’. The artistes who performed on Wednesday were Lipok, Viva La Club, De Band, John Panmei and the Band, Mahila Band, Prolitarians, East Wind Wood Band, Purple Fusion and Cotton Country.
