Dimapur, April 22 (EMN): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday informed that "isolated heavy rainfall, thundersquall and hailstorms are very likely over north-eastern states during next two days.”
According to the weather observation, heavy rainfall was likely at isolated places over Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, South Interior Karnataka and Kerala and Mahe from April 23-26.
The weather bulletin also stated that on April 23, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and squall (speed reaching up to 60-70 kmph) is very likely at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
It may be mentioned that north-eastern states, including Nagaland have been experiencing heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds and hailstones in the past few days, destroying dozens of houses and crops in many locations.
