Heavy downpour, hailstorm lash Nagaland’s Zunheboto district

Kohima, Feb. 26 (EMN): Parts of Zunheboto district witnessed nature’s fury on Tuesday evening as hailstorm ‘rained’ at Naltoqa town and Achisaghtemi village under Suruhoto sub-division.
This was confirmed to Eastern Mirror via telephone by Akiheto Chishi, the general secretary of Naltoqa Town Students’ Union.
“With torrential rain, Naltoqa witnessed heavy downpour of hailstorm that lasted for about an hour. However, no serious damage had happened except some partial damage,” Chishi said.
“The hailstorm took place in the evening of February 25 at around 2:30 pm and lasted for about an hour,” he added.
Chishi informed that around five houses were partially damaged by the heavy downpour of hailstorm at Naltoqa town, situated approximately 20 km away from the district headquarters of Zunheboto town.
When enquired about reports of damage in other places, he stated, “Except in Achisaghtemi, no reports had been received and no damage was reported when updated (sic).”
