Dimapur, July 10 (EMN): A team of monitors from the Nagaland Health & Family Welfare visited Dimapur on July 10 to review the performance of Dimapur District Health Society's health programmes .
A meeting was conducted at the district hospital in the city, a press release that was issued on Wednesday by the Dimapur health establishment stated. The team was led by Dr. Vizolie Suokhrie, director for Health, the updates stated.
During the first session, the district officers gave a “comparative review” of their programme work and performances of the past three financial years, the press release stated.
“The district programme officers shared their achievements as well as the challenges faced during the implementation of the activities. The performance of each health programme was reviewed and interactions were held to discuss various gaps and suggestions to improve the performances were shared,” the press release informed.
The performance of the district hospital of Dimapur was reviewed too in the second session.
Dr. Vizolie Suokhrie said the performance of a health facility improves when its staffs are regularly available to provide health services. He urged the medical officers and health workers to be diligent and regular in performing their duties.
Likewise, he urged the district establishment to “put up their needs” and requirements such as for training, equipments etc that will improve the health service delivery. This in turn will improve the performance of the area’s health services, he said.
Another health officer, Dr. Atoshe Sema, iterated the importance of availability of health service providers in the health units, the updates stated.
With the implementation of the Laqshay programme in all the districts, he said, delivery will improve further. He informed that nutritional support is also provided to pregnant women registered at government health units, the press release stated, quoting him.
Likewise, another official Dr. Thanghoi Lam, was quoted as having said to be “satisfied with the overall performance” of the Dimapur District Health Society.
“He also reminded the district to submit various reports on time for the smooth and efficient implementation of various health programmes. He further urged all health units to qualify for National Quality Assurance Standards so that the quality of health services is not compromised,” the press release added.
