This was stated at the 140th report on action taken basing on observations and recommendations contained in the 133rd report of the Committee on Estimates pertaining to Health and Family Welfare department (NRHM), which was presented to the house on August 13 (Thirteenth Nagaland Legislative Assembly).
It mentioned that the department has initiated to propose enhanced salary for MO and specialist MO particularly against far-flung and remote places. The report also stated that MO quarters are being constructed in places where there is no such provision. The department also initiated those measures to provide mobility support in carrying out official duties.
It stated that the department is also actively pursuing for cadre review so that the shortage of doctors vis-à-vis IPHS norm is addressed to some extent and that doctors do not have to overwork due to shortage of manpower.
