Dimapur, Sep. 17 (EMN): As part of the ongoing Poshan Maah programme, the establishment of the ICDS project for Dimapur organised an “anaemia camp” for women and adolescent girls, on September 16 at Chumoukedima in Dimapur.
The government publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) gave updates on Tuesday informing about the programme.
About 30 students and 20 pregnant and lactating mothers attended the camp where free screening for anaemia besides antenatal checkups were given, the IPR stated.
Medical officials at the event spoke about prevention and treatment of anaemia, and importance of complementary feeding and exclusive breastfeeding of infants up to six months, among others, the updates stated.
