
Dignitaries, community leaders, and others during the

- KOHIMA — Health
and Wellness Park, an ‘Iconic Project’ under LADF 2023-2024, was formally
inaugurated on March 19 at the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Kohima village, P
Khel. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, community leaders, and residents.
- An update mentioned that, while addressing the gathering,
Helievio Solo, chairman of the Kohima Village Council, underscored the
importance of community well-being and equitable development through the
effective use of the Local Area Development Fund (LADF).
- He emphasised that the park would serve as a vital space for
fitness and recreation while fostering communal harmony.
- With the upcoming delimitation process on the horizon, Solo
urged political party workers to remain vigilant and proactive. He highlighted
the critical role of gaon buras (village chiefs) in ensuring proper utilisation
of the LADF.
- “The LADF is entrusted to the local MLA not for personal
gain but as a common fund for the upliftment of the community. Everyone must
stay vigilant and work towards achieving meaningful and widespread
development,” Solo asserted.
- Solo further emphasised that the LADF should not be
concentrated in one location but distributed effectively across various areas
to ensure balanced and inclusive growth. He also acknowledged the efforts of
the NDPP party for initiating the PHC project, which is expected to benefit
five surrounding villages by enhancing healthcare accessibility.
- Additionally, he mentioned the upcoming activities of the
NSF Martyrs’ Trophy, reflecting the community’s dedication to promoting
cultural and sporting events.
- A report on the project’s finances was presented by the
treasurer, followed by a vote of thanks, marking the official opening of the
park.
