Dimapur, August 6 : The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has offered a reminder to department of Higher Education that scholarships for students remain delayed. The ANCSU issued a press release on Friday addressed to the directorate of Higher Education giving it till August 14 to release the scholarship or ‘any untoward situation.’
“The ANCSU, in reference to its reminder letter vide NO. 15/7/2016, takes this opportunity once again to remind your good office about the delay of disbursement of Scholarship which is of great concern of the students career.”
The ANCSU said it had been appealing and reminded the department to release the post-matric scholarship for the year 2015-2016.
“However, despite of our endless effort, our demands remained fruitless and unnoticed. As a matter of fact, the delay of scholarship has adversely affected the students’ community which is unjust on the part of the state government and the concerned department. The cold delay in disbursement of scholarship has created further discouragement to the students as a whole.”
Therefore, the ANCSU stated, the department must now “re-address” the grievance seriously and take necessary steps to release the scholarships on or before August 14, 2016.
“Failing which, the ANCSU shall not be held responsible for any untoward situation in future out of its intervention,” it added.
