In an update received here on Sun. Sep. 30, Nagaland easily beat Manipur by 9 wickets at Nadiad in Gujratat. Nagaland now has three wins and three losses with still two matches to go in the Plate Group-D premier trophy of the BCCI. Nagaland captain, Jonathan Rongsen won the toss and decided to field first. Manipur first three wickets fell for just 9 runs and thereafter wickets fell at regular intervals even though Nagaland was playing without two of their frontline bowlers who are out due to injury. With this win Nagaland defeated Meghalaya, Manipur and Sikkim and lost to Puducherry, Bihar and Uttrakhand. Nagaland now faces Arunachal Pradesh on October 2 and Mizoram on October 6. Brief scores: Manipur: 144 all out n 43.3 overs Bonny-28 runs, Yaspal Singh-41 runs, and Priyojit-35 runs Arun, Abrar, Imliwati and Hokaito of Nagaland took 2 wickets each. Nagaland: 147 for 1 in 3.2 overs Nitesh-41 runs, Sedezhalie-52 runs, Pawan KB-50 runs Bishworji took 1 wicket for Manipur Nagaland won by 9 wickets.
