Dimapur, Dec. 29 (EMN): At a solemn religious ceremony held at Mother Teresa House, Kolkata, Hantsula Yimchunger from Shamator professed her commitment to be a fulltime missionary and to be at the service of the poorest of the poor following the footsteps of Saint Mother Teresa in the congregation of Missionaries of Charity.
The function was participated by many priests, sisters, laity and representatives of family. The programme included Eucharistic celebration concelebrated by six priests from Nagaland.
A press release issued by Rev. Fr. Leo Chase, Shamator, stated that Hantula Yimchunger, having taken vows of poverty, chastity, obedience and service to the poorest of the poor, will now be known as Rev. Sr. M Chris John MC. The change of name was symbolic of her new life of ministry and mission.
“We are so happy and blessed that a member from our family is now at the service of the church especially to be of help for the poor in the world. We will continue to support her with our love and prayer,” said her elder sister Ms Tsulula Tracy after the service.
