View this post on Instagram Kohima Science College (Autonomous)(@kohima_science_college ) Jotsoma has come up with an initiative to tackle the shortage of hand sanitizers in the state, by producing their own in their Chemistry laboratory. Dr.Tiakaba Jamir, a professor from the Chemistry department stated that along with three of his M.sc students, started the initiative on March 13 after the state government issued an order making the use of hand sanitizer compulsory. Principal of the College, Dr. Lily Sema also informed that Naga Hospital Authority Kohima has also demanded the hand sanitizer from the college as they have run out of stock. The first batch of hand sanitizers made by the college was distributed to the Doordasha Kendra (DDK) and RCEMPA in the college neighborhood. The sanitizer contains 76% alcohol, which is higher than the regular sanitizers available in the market. They are also adding fragrance in the sanitizers, they informed.
