Imphal,Feb. 5 (EMN): Five districts of Manipur on Saturday witnessed hailstorm for about 20-30 minutes, according to reports. The hailstorm hit the districts of Imphal West, Tamenglong, Kangpokpi, Senapati and Ukhrul.
The hailstorm at Tamenglong district headquarters, started at around 4.30pm and it continued for about 20-30minutes, according to residents of Tamenglong town, 150 km west of Imphal.
Similarly, there was light hailstorm in parts of Ukhrul district including its district headquarters, 84 km north east of Imphal around 5pm.Residents of Kangpokpi district and Imphal West district also reported witnessing low intensity hailstorm in their respective areas around the same time.
The snow fall hit areas of Mao in Manipur’s Senapati district also reportedly witnessed hailstorm on Saturday afternoon. However there have been no reports of any untoward incidents of damage to life and property.
