The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India has communicated that the Influenza A H1N1 Virus that caused the pandemic in 2009, now continues to circulate as a seasonal Influenza virus causing sporadic outbreaks in different part of the country. Influenza A H1N1 cases are currently being reported from states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Telangana. Accordingly, the Department of Health & Family welfare, Nagaland has also initiated measures for the Surveillance of H1N1 Influenza cases report of which is sent to Government of India on a daily basis. All the District Hospitals and Health Units have been alerted for necessary action. Arrangement for availability of Medicines through Schedule ‘X’ chemist is also being undertaken through drug control wing of the Department. In this regard the Health & Family Welfare Department, Nagaland has requested the public to be vigil and any suspected cases to report to the nearest Health Centre for timely Medical Care.
