Dimapur, Feb. 1: Governor of Nagaland, P.B. Acharya expressed shock over the unfortunate incident that took place in Dimapur and Longleng on January 31 wherein two civilians were killed and many injured, in connection with conduct of ULB elections.
Governor urged everyone to ensure peace and tranquillity. He also urged upon the public, civil society, tribal hohos, etc. to take care that there would not be violence and takes precaution that no one carries weapons in public place.
He stated that difference in opinion should be resolved in a democratic way through dialogue and negotiation and added that violence is not a democratic method. Further he appealed to all to remain calm for the larger interest of public and express their demand by peaceful democratic methods.
