Dimapur, April 13 (EMN): State Governor PB Acharya has greeted the Naga people, Arunachalese, Assamese, Mainpuri and Punjabi on the occasion of Sangken, Rongali Bihu, Cheiraoba, Vaisaki and Vishu.
In his message, the Governor said that as people usher in the New Year, one should look forward to the future with hope and make resolutions for a year of peace, harmony and development in the society. He called on the people to become agents of change in building a stronger nation.
Stating that the strength of the chain lies in the weakest link, the Governor said it is time to strengthen the weaker links by identifying and motivate them to avail central schemes and welfare programmes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Kisan Credit Card, National Food Security Act, etc.
‘This will empower the society economically also bring development and positive change to the country,’ he said.
Stating that festivals unite people regardless of their religions or backgrounds and promote the celebration of diversity, the Governor expressed hope that the celebration would reinforce love and goodwill among the people and also bring with it peace, prosperity and goodwill for the people of the country.
Meanwhile, Governor PB Acharya conveyed warm greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of Easter. Stating that Christ’s resurrection signifies triumph of truth over evil and that love is always stronger than hatred, the Governor called on the people to let the day of resurrection make all work for peace, harmony and brotherhood. He also appealed the people to pray for peace in the State.
“May the celebration of Easter foster the spirit of love and forgiveness in all of us,” he added.
