Dimapur, May 10 (EMN): The Governor of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, P.B. Acharya, has congratulated Aizawl FC for winning the 10th I – League title and creating history by becoming the first team from North East India to win the title.
In his letter to Robert R Royte, President and Owner, Aizawl Football Club, Aizawl, Mizoram, the Governor said that it is a proud moment in the history of sports for North East and Mizoram in particular. The hard work and team effort of the club has paid off and will be an example for everyone. This victory will encourage the youth of the nation that one can pull off success with team work. He also congratulated the players of Aizawl FC, the team management and the Mizoram Football Association for bringing laurels to North East India. He also expressed happiness to learn about the actions of the Aizawl FC fans after the club clinched the trophy. As an Ambassador of Swachhat Bharat, the Governor congratulated the Aizawl FC fans for taking the initiative of cleaning up the litter at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong and hoped that this trend will continue and be an example for everyone.
