Sainik School Punglwa hosts the Group E All India Sainik Schools National Games Football Championship featuring five schools.

DIMAPUR — The Group E All India Sainik Schools National Games Football Championship began at Sainik School Punglwa, Nagaland, marking the beginning of a four-day sporting event.
According to an update, the tournament brings together five Sainik Schools from the East Zone, including Sainik School Goalpara, Sainik School Imphal, Sainik School Chhingchhip, Sainik School East Siang, and host Sainik School Punglwa.
The ceremony was attended by Col. Dr. Smita Misra, Principal of Sainik School Punglwa, who highlighted the significance of such events in fostering discipline, teamwork, and healthy competition among the youth.
The ceremony began with a drill display by the five contingents of the participating schools, followed by an oath-taking ceremony and the declaration of the championship open by the chief guest.
In the inaugural match of the championship, host Sainik School Punglwa took on Sainik School Chhingchhip. Sainik School Punglwa emerged victorious with a score of 3-2.
The championship is being held across the U-17 and U-15 categories for boys and U-17 for girls. It is the first leg of the Group E All India Sainik Schools National Games.
