Greenwood HSS and King David HSS advanced to the Under-17 Pre-Subroto final after winning their semi-final matches in Kohima

KOHIMA — Greenwood Higher Secondary School Dimapur will face King David Higher Secondary School Chümoukedima in the final of the state-level Pre-Subroto Tournament for Under-17 boys at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, on Thursday.
The tournament is being organised by the department of Youth Resources and Sports, in collaboration with Nagaland Football Association.
In Wednesday's first semi-final, Greenwood HSS edged Government Higher Secondary School Hakusang, Tuensang, 3-2 in a closely contested match.
Besuching Mak gave GHSS Hakusang the lead in the 12th minute before Zhovikho equalised two minutes later. Lidikhum put Greenwood ahead in the 32nd minute, but Kaiman Chailu restored parity for Hakusang in the 42nd minute. Longou Kam netted the winner in the 52nd minute to send Greenwood into the final.

In the second semi-final, King David HSS registered a commanding 5-0 victory over PM SHRI Government Higher Secondary School Thangjam, Tuensang.
Neisetso Yalie opened the scoring in the 13th minute before doubling the lead in the 20th minute. Khwengja Peri added the third in the 25th minute, while Medosevi Terhuja struck twice in the 37th and 78th minutes to seal KDHSS's place in the final.
Nagaland will be represented in both the boys' and girls' categories of the 65th Subroto Mukherjee International Football Tournament in New Delhi.
The winners of the boys' and girls' state-level tournaments will represent the state at the national event. PM SHRI Government High School Meriema has already qualified in the girls' category after winning the state title last week.
