EMN DIMAPUR, FEBUARY 1 The Dr Shurhozelie led NPF on Sunday said that the greed and folly of the ‘rebel campers’ at Sovima has driven them to the nadir. Giving the background, the NPF led by Dr Shurhozelie in a statement said the Naga People’s Front is a well-knit, disciplined family, with unwavering stand to safeguard and uphold the Naga identity and work towards bringing a solution to the Indo-Naga political issue acceptable to all. It added that the NPF constitution has it all as to how the election process of the party should go. It is utterly ridiculous and astonishing that the ‘rebel campers’ at Sovima have taken it so bitterly and murmur about the re-election of Dr Shürhozelie Liezetsu as president of NPF through constitutional and democratic ethos on November 26, 2014. “It only confirms how their greed and folly has driven them to the nadir,” said the statement of NPF led by Dr Shurhozelie. “Their rhetoric and outrageous attack on the very political party, NPF (from which they have not resigned yet) only reflects the degree of their frustrated and desperate state of mind,” it further stated. They should rather realize their situation and keep away from meddling into the affairs of the NPF Central Hq. Kohima Nagaland manned by ‘down to earth’, diehard workers supported by unwavering party men and women, with the untiring, tolerant, seasoned and God fearing Naga leader - Dr Shürhozelie Liezetsu as the legitimate and dynamic president, it also said. According to the statement, the current DAN-lll Government, (a pre-poll alliance partner of the NDA since 2003) under the Chief Minister Mr. T.R. Zeliang and NPF president, Dr Shürhozelie Liezetsu extends wholehearted support to the Prime Minister Narenrda Modi led NDA Government in Delhi, and if the dissident leaders in Nagaland are uncomfortable with this arrangement, then it is for the people to realize the state of jealousy and negativity that engulf the architects of the ongoing imbroglio and the group of ‘NPF rebels’ at Sovima, it added. “The quest of the Naga people for a permanent solution of the Indo-Naga political issue has tracked on for decades and this very issue has been on the DAN Government’s top priority and for which, a time bound attention needs to be given, and, the NPF (with its coalition partners) will continue to be the foundation upon which the principles and ideology of the Naga people’s political aspiration lies, so as to provide a strong and stable platform for the Government to translate their (Naga people) quest into reality,” said the NPF led by Dr Shurhozelie. It then requested the people from all walks of life and other political parties to assist the government in speeding up all developmental activities in the interest of the public, rather than adopting negative attitudes. “In a system of democracy, the floor of the elected House is the highest and most sacred platform. It is the platform where every issue and matter relating to the welfare and governance of the State is addressed. The NPF led DAN, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. T.R. Zeliang and Dr Shürhozelie Liezetsu has always been transparent with every effort to uphold the sanctity and status of the assembly. It is the people’s desire that constitutional justice prevails, and, without further delay,” the statement added.
