Mokokchung, August 30 (EMN): Former beauty queen turned social activist, Imlibenla Wati, today donated a hefty amount of money towards construction of a concrete road for Rev. Longri Memorial Hostel- an important landmark in Mokokchung town.
The approach road connecting the hostel is approximately around 150 metres and in deplorable condition. The road not only connects the hostel but also served as the only road to reach the Aongza Fellowship Church under Mokokchung Town Baptist Church (MTBA).
The donated cash was handed over to the church authority to initiate the developmental activities and the work is expected to start from next week.
The social activist expressed that as a daughter of Aongza Ward, she has the keen desire and interest to serve the society particularly the citizens of Aongza Ward, who have morally supported and uphold her in their prayer during her past endeavour at various national and international arena.
Imlibenla also observed that the colony needs major development but positive response are lacking from the authorities. In this connecting, she decided to invest in community charity works. She also asserted that her mission is to do charitable developmental works for the people.
During a short programme at Rev. Longri Memorial Hostel premises, she sought advice and guidance from the ward authority, seniors, and church worker, saying this small donation is a token of appreciation to the colony for their never ending support and trust she received from the people of Aongza.
R Longritemjen Ao, chairman of Aongza Ward Authority, also spoke at the programme. The invocation prayer was offered by Temsuwati Kichu, Associate Pastor of MTBA.
