Dimapur, March 31 (EMN): The free grassroots football camp organised by Nagaland Football Coaches Association (NFCA) concluded on Friday after five days of teaching children between the age group of six to twelve. The camp was held on the theme “Make Football Happen”.

Altogether 103 children attended the five-day training camp that was held at State Stadium Dimapur with 17 coaches – one AFC ‘C’ licensee, two AIFF ‘A’ and 14 AIFF ‘D’ licensees – encouraging the children to keep in touch with the football world and develop a habit of following all the happenings in football.

Besides regular practice and playing football, the children were also encouraged to uphold discipline at home and school as well as on the football field while prioritising education and schooling as one of the conditions of a complete footballer.
15 students (6-8 years), 36 (8-10 years) and 52 (10-12 years) registered for the free Grassroots Football camp where they were taught on basics of passing, kicking, heading, dribbling, controlling and ball exercises.
Kuchi R Zeliang, Director of Barak Football Club and Executive Member, Dimapur District Football Association gracing the closing programme of the camp acknowledged the camp as a very good initiative. A football enthusiast himself, Zeliang congratulated the NFCA for the successful conduct of the coaching camp.
