GPRN/NSCN (Unification) rejects social media reports linking an arrested individual to its organisation and urges authorities to verify facts before issuing information.
DIMAPUR — The GPRN/NSCN (Unification), led by president MB Neokpao Konyak and ato kilonser Alezo Venuh, has rejected reports circulating on social media regarding the arrest of Hokito Yeptho of Xukhepu village in Zunheboto district.
In a press release, the organisation said the report incorrectly identified the arrested individual as a "Leacy" member of "Unification (Kitovi)," describing the claim as false and misleading.
The organisation also cautioned the officer-in-charge of Diphupar Police Station against what it termed the erroneous use of the name "Unification" in reference to the Kitovi group.
According to the release, the GPRN/NSCN (Unification) has consistently maintained that the only organisation recognised as "Unification" is the one under the leadership of MB Neokpao Konyak and Alezo Venuh.
It further claimed that Kitovi had publicly renounced the "Unification" nomenclature following his impeachment.
The organisation urged government authorities and concerned agencies to verify facts before issuing or disseminating information, stating that inaccurate or misleading statements undermine public trust and social harmony.
It also warned that any recurrence of such alleged misrepresentation could compel the organisation to take appropriate action against those responsible.
