  • DIMAPUR — The GPRN/NSCN (Unification) has denied allegations that its Chang region members defected to the Kitovi-led GPRN/NSCN, as claimed by the latter.

  • In a press release, the NSCN (U) stated that its regional administrative officer of Chang region, H Nasu Chang, has categorically refuted the rival GPRN/NSCN’s claims.

  • “This claim is a deceptive tactic aimed at creating a false impression of strength and influence among the Naga public in general and the Chang people in particular.

  • “The Chang Region, GPRN (Unification) unequivocally asserts that, with one notable exception, the individuals reportedly ‘welcomed’ into their ranks are entirely unknown to us. These persons do not appear in any official records of our government, and their alleged affiliation with us is purely fictitious,” it stated.

  • The GPRN/NSCN (Unification) condemned the “practice of self-aggrandisement through fabricated narratives and distorted facts aimed at misleading the public.”

  • Maintaining that the sole exception is that of former ‘Maj. Nukshi,’ whose association with the GPRN (Unification) was officially terminated due to serious breaches of established regulations and protocols under NARRA, the NSCN (Unification) asserted that his dismissal predates the alleged defection, thereby rendering their claim of having “welcomed” him into their fold both misleading and absurd.

  • “The GPRN/NSCN (Unification) remains firmly committed to truth, justice, and the genuine interests of the Naga people and will not tolerate attempts to distort reality and sow confusion in the name of political legitimacy. The future of the Naga people must be built on honesty, mutual respect, and factual representation—not on deception and falsehoods,” it added.
