Dimapur, August 6 (EMN): In a major setback to the GPRN/NSCN, one senior functionary in the rank of kilonser for NGOs and Public Relations, Akato Chophy has resigned from the post of kilonser and active membership citing personal reason.
Akato Chophy made this announcement to the media persons in Chekiye village this afternoon. He informed that his resignation tender has been dispatched to the Ato kilonser.
Replying to query, Akato Chophy informed that he has no intention of joining other groups as for now. He would rather prefer concentrating on his family. Akato, however, said he will always be ready to serve for the cause of Naga nation in future if his service was needed.
Akato Chophy has served in the Naga national movement for over odd 20 years in various capacities. He was also one of the pioneers towards the unification movement among the Naga political groups.
Also replying to query on the possible adverse impact on the organisation following his resignation, Akato Chophy was confident that GPRN/NSCN will be able to withstand threats from any external forces as it has enough eminent personalities with intellects.
It may be noted here that Akato Chophy had served in the Naga national movement for over a span of 20 years in various capacities. His resignation has come a shock to many Naga national workers and the public as well.
