GPRN/NNC (Apex Body) merges under Francis Kikon

The GPRN/NNC (Apex Body) merged under Francis Kikon’s leadership, dissolving SS Pongkhu’s faction and terminating him on moral grounds.

DIMAPUR — The GPRN/NNC (Apex Body) council of Kilonsers, army wings and secretaries held an emergency meeting on Wednesday and resolved to merge en masse with the original GPRN/NNC (AB) under the leadership of Francis Kikon and to dissolve the GPRN/NNC (AB) led by SS Pongkhu.


In a press note, the GPRN/NNC (AB) further mentioned that it was also resolved to terminate President Pongkhu Yimkhung and Alo Yimkhung, acting army chief, on moral grounds, corruption and arbitrary action.


This included appointing the general secretary without any meeting or consultation with the council of kilonsers and tatars, running the government in a dictatorial manner, and putting his personal interest above the national cause.


It stated that the decision to terminate has been taken for violation of the Yezhabo Article 17, Clause 21, 26 and 30. The meeting also resolved to prohibit Pongkhu from using the name GPRN/NNC (AB) and added that failure to adhere to this decision shall invite stern action.

It was further warned that Pongkhu must not make any collection or donation in the name of GPRN/NNC (AB) from government or private establishments.


A total of 37 members joined the original GPRN/NNC (AB) along with the following kilonsers and senior officers: Kitoho H Zhimomi, home kilonser; Loketo H Zhimomi, chief secretary; Akito Sumi, deputy Kilonser; Kihovi Awomi, tatar; Mughaka Zhimo; Amen Walling, deputy kilonser; Jakugha Ayemi, leacy; Kido Swu, kilonser; Ikuto, KUT chairman; Zaki Zhimo, secretary; Inato Awomi, town commander; Imti Ao, kilonser; Yanger, deputy kilonser; Temsu, secretary; Roko Angami, kilonser; Limha Lotha, tatar; and David Sangtam, kilonser.
