DIMAPUR — The GPRN/NNC (AB) held a consultative meeting on May 18, during which the organisation adopted a resolution expressing its support for the “working convenor” of the Naga National Political Groups (NNPG), N Kitovi Zhimomi.
In a press release, the organisation stated that, as a people-oriented body, it continued to function under the leadership of president SS Pongkhu Naga.
Addressing the meeting, Pongkhu Naga said that the GPRN/NNC (AB) had participated in 17 rounds of meetings with the Naga Political Groups (NPG), facilitated by the Forum for Naga Reconciliation, with the aim of promoting unity among the Nagas and bringing all groups together.
However, he expressed disappointment that the reconciliation process had failed to achieve the desired outcome, resulting in continued uncertainty over the Naga political solution.
The organisation further stated that the Government of India remained engaged in peace negotiations with the Working Committee of the Naga National Political Groups (WC-NNPG), led by convenor N Kitovi Zhimomi.

It said the talks were focused on the implementation of the historic “Agreed Position” signed between the Government of India and the NNPGs in November 2017.
Reiterating its stand, the GPRN/NNC (AB) stated that Naga history could not be rewritten by any individual or entity and maintained that the eventual Naga political solution should be based on the Agreed Position signed under the leadership of the WC-NNPG headed by Zhimomi.
Following deliberations, the organisation resolved to extend its full support to Zhimomi until a lasting and honourable Naga political solution is achieved.
It also appealed to all Nagas to rise above differences and unite in solidarity, urging collective efforts towards securing the aspirations and future of the Naga people.
