DIMAPUR — NSCN/GPRN (Unification) informed that there exist only one government under the collective leadership of its president, Gen. (retired) MB Neokpao Konyak, and Ato kilonser, Alezo Venuh.
The organisation has issued this statement in light of the misrepresentation and misuse of GPRN/NSCN (Unification) nomenclature by section of people following the recent development of ‘Change of Guard’ in the leadership.
It mentioned that GPRN/NSCN was established in consonance with the Naga people’s call and desire for unification of all the Naga national workers of different factions. It added that like-minded national workers from the NSCN-IM and NSCN (Khaplang), in a quest for a single ‘unified Naga national government,’ came together in 2007 and led to the formation of a government under the banner of GPRN/NSCN.
It, thenceforth, stated that the nomenclature ‘GPRN/NSCN’ and the word ‘Unification’ came to be referenced as synonym terms.
It further cautioned every concerned citizens and public of the state to be vigilant, not to entertain and denounce any group/entity masquerading and using the GPRN/NSCN (Unification) nomenclature other than the one led by the collective leadership of Gen. (retired) MB Neokpao Konyak, president, and Alezo Venuh, Ato kilonser, in any matter and discourse henceforth.
In a separate statement, Hokishe Zhimomi, kilonser and caretaker of Sumi region, and Mhondamo Ngullie, kilonser and caretaker of Lotha region, informed the people of Zunheboto and Wokha districts that besides GPRN/NSCN (U) led by the collective leadership of its President, Gen. (retired) MB Neokpao Konyak, and Ato kilonser, Alezo Venuh, no group/entity fancying and using GPRN/NSCN (U) nomenclature in any matter should be entertained and acknowledged.
It cautioned that any activity whatsoever, carried out under the guise and impersonation of GPRN/NSCN (U) nomenclature by anyone would be sternly dealt with as deemed necessary.
