Dimapur, October 31 : Sixteen years after it entered into ceasefire with the Government of India in the year 2000, the GPRN/ NSCN is expected to begin formal peace talks with the Centre before March 2017. This was disclosed by Convenor of National Political Affairs Committee (NPAC) GPRN/NSCN, Kughalu Mulatonu, during an interaction with a section of the media at H Khehoyi village on Monday. He said GPRN/NSCN collective leadership is currently in New Delhi to pursue the matter with the central leadership. He said the talks will centre on finding political solution for the Nagas of Nagaland. On being asked on the core objective of the political solution, Mulatonu replied that as Naga nationalism began with the issue of sovereignty, the group will continue on the same line. He said the GPRN/ NSCN under its ato kilonser Kitovi Zhimomi was compelled to seek solution for the Nagas of Nagaland as none of the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) has taken up the issue on Nagas of Nagaland. He justified his statement alleging that SS Khaplang has established his base in Myanmar while the NSCN-IM along with UNC has been demanding for autonomy in Manipur. While acknowledging that the Nagas from other neighbouring states as brethren, he said the GPRN/NSCN will not restrict anyone on the issue of Naga nationalism but affirmed that it will not allow anyone to decide the fate of Nagas of Nagaland. In order to take forward the talks from the grassroots level, he said, the NPAC had completed 19 rounds of talks with 17 tribal hohos including the Gorkhas. He further informed that the GPRN/NSCN will soon hold talks with NTC, CNTC and ENPO in this regard.
