Dimapur, Oct. 25 (EMN): The names of GPRN/NSCN functionaries, K Mulatonu and Alezo Venuh were wrongly named in the ‘most wanted’ list released by the National Investigation Agency.
The envoy to the group’s collective leadership and coordinator of the ongoing political dialogue between the Working Committee of NNPGs and the government of India, Alezo Venuh recently told the news agency NEPS that as soon as the ambush on Indian Army personnel in Manipur’s Chandel took place on June 4, 2015, he along with K Mulatonu were linked with the incident by NIA.
“The agency (NIA) had wrongly implicated them that they were involved in the ambush on Indian Army personnel in Chandel on June 4, 2015. Interestingly, the agency had quickly apologised for wrongly implicating them.
“Venuh said they were never part of the incident in Chandel. He further disclosed that as soon as the incident took place in Chandel, the NIA officials from Guwahati had interrogated them (he and Mulatonu) and they found that there was no connection whatsoever between the incident and them. ‘After that, the NIA has given the official clarification on our position,’ Venuh said. ‘So when I have never been part of the incident, NIA’s featuring my name in their website as most wanted does not arise’,” the report read.
Editor’s note: Therefore, it is clarified that the report was sourced from the NIA website and other news sites. However, we regret and apologise if the report has caused any damage to the good reputation of the leaders in concern.
