Dimapur, May 14 : The Special Education Teachers’ Association Nagaland (SETAN) after threadbare discussion with officials of Education Department has today resolved to withdraw its press release that had appeared in sections of local dailies today. Appreciating the government for its assurance to release the pending salaries of all the teachers for 21 months on May 16, SETAN President Kerihosa Natso and General Secretary, Asangla on behalf of the association thanked the department officials for understanding the woes and untold hardship faced by the teachers for the past 21 months.
SETAN has also lauded the department’s initiative of sanctioning the pending salaries at one go instead of installment basis on Monday.’ ‘We regret any inconvenience caused to the department and its officials. The language used in the press release that appeared on Saturday was done without ascertaining the ground reality and burden taken up for verification of special education teachers detailed by RMSA (IEDSS)’ the press release stated. “We thank the government and the department officials in advance for giving their full assurance to clear the long pending salaries on May 16 without fail’, the release added.
