Govt-ASSOCHAM event highlights new scheme for entrepreneurs

Dimapur, July 31 (EMN): The Ministry of Food Processing, and the department of Industries and Commerce of Nagaland, and the Associated Chambers of Commerce of India (ASSOCHAM) organised an ‘interactive session’ focussing on the Kisan Sampada Yojana, stated to be a new scheme to promote entrepreneurs in the food sector. The event was also to create a ‘forward and backward linkage’ and reduce waste of food produce, a press release from the District Industry Centre on Monday. Joint Secretary Ashok Kumar, the chief guest of the event, explained the scheme, available credit facility, and other resources that are available. He said that the government was focussed on the development of the region. Commissioner and Secretary of the department of Industries and Commerce N Husheli Sema said that the state of Nagaland has ‘huge potential’ and the centre should ‘extend special handholding schemes for the entrepreneurs of this region.’ In her welcome address, Perminder Kaur, the ASSOCHAM’s regional director for the east and Northeast, said that the purpose of the scheme was to encourage entrepreneurs to take up initiatives.
