Dimapur, Aug. 18 (EMN): The Sustainable Development Goals Coordination Centre (SDGCC) under the department of Planning and Coordination has announced the ‘Nagaland SDG Action Award’ and ‘SDG Innovation Participatory Action Research Initiative 2.0.’
The ‘Nagaland SDG Action Award’ intended to identify and facilitate the change creators for the actions which are making better Nagaland. The award is an innovative instrument that would encourage, promote and back the efforts of all individuals, organizations, institutions who are working towards making the community a better place, stated a DIPR report.
The award has sought individuals, organisations, and institutions that inspire, empower and connect people to drive action towards a more sustainable future through their actions.
The award would be conferred in three categories namely (a) Economic sustainability, Social and community uplift, and Environmental sustainability.
It stated that the winner in each category would be awarded a cash award of INR 50,000, a memento, and a certificate.
The date of application entry would begin from August 19 to September 18. The winners would be announced through an award ceremony to be held in Kohima. Further details including the entry form for the award are available on the link: https://bit.ly/ActionAward.
The department has also opened up the 'SDG Innovation Participatory Action Research Initiative 2.0' applications for individuals, organizations, institutions of Nagaland from August 19 to September 18. The initiative was to implement innovative projects which would contribute to the achievement of SDGs at the grassroots. The initiative aims to find innovative ways by which the government could play a role in promoting ‘people action.’
It stated that a total of four projects amounting to INR four lakh each would be awarded to the most innovative projects. For more details including entry form of the initiative are available on the link: https: https://bit.ly/SDGIPAR2.
It added that the department has been mobilising individuals, institutions, organisations and communities to take action for the achievement of the SDGs, whilst building coalitions across communities and societies at the local level and creating a variety of solutions for the priority SDGs and their indicators. The awards are another effort towards the SDG Vision 2030.
