IMPHAL — Amid ongoing tensions following the recent bomb attack in Tronglaobi in Bishnupur district, Manipur Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Sunday to review the law and order situation in Manipur.
The meeting focused on the prevailing security scenario in the state and measures to restore normalcy in affected areas, according to people familiar with the matter.
The discussion comes at a time when Manipur continues to witness unrest in parts of five districts — Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Kakching and Thoubal.
Prior to meeting the Union Home Minister in New Delhi, Konthoujam visited the residence of the blast victims at Tronglaobi on April 10.

We held a constructive discussion on strengthening peace, ensuring stability, and safeguarding the interests of the people.”
Konthoujam further expressed appreciation for the Centre’s continued support and commitment towards maintaining law and order, as well as ensuring the state’s development.
The Sunday meeting follows the bomb attack at Tronglaobi in Bishnupur district on April 7, which claimed the lives of two innocent children —a five –year-old boy and his newborn sister and further killing of three more civilians by CRPF in the follow up public protest.
The incident triggered protests and public outrage across the five districts, with public demonstrations and agitations continuing in condemnation of the attack, forcing the state authority to impose curfew to contain the situation and suspended internet mobile data services temporarily.
The suspension of internet services was extended till April 14.
