Governor's Awards presented to 88 HSLC and HSSLC toppers at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, highlighting district-wise exam results and excellence.

Yhome, Advisor of School Education and State Council of Educational Research
and Training (SCERT), pointed out on Thursday that in the Nagaland Board of
School Education (NBSE)-conducted HSLC and HSSLC examination 2025 results,
schools from the districts of Phek, Peren, Shamator, Meluri, Longleng, Niuland,
Tseminyu, and Zunheboto did not have any students in the Top 10 list.
- He was speaking during the felicitation of toppers, rank
holders, and achievers of the HSLC and HSSLC examinations by the Governor of
Nagaland, La. Ganesan, at Dr. Imkongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan, Kohima.

- The advisor also noted that there were 38 students in the
HSLC Top 10 list, including 15 from Kohima, 11 from Dimapur, four from
Chümoukedima, three from Mokokchung, two from Tuensang, and one each from
Wokha, Noklak, and Mon.
- In Science, there were 14 students in the Top 10 list,
including five from Kohima, eight from Dimapur, and one from Mokokchung. In the
Commerce stream, there were 15 students in the Top 10, with three from Kohima
and 12 from Dimapur. In the Arts stream, there are 11 students in the Top 10,
including four from Kohima, three from Dimapur, two from Chümoukedima, and one
each from Mokokchung and Kiphire.
- Looking at the overall performance, he noted that in the
HSLC examination 2025 results, Kohima district achieved the highest pass
percentage at 87.58%, while Tuensang secured the lowest with 60.03%.
- In the HSSLC Arts stream, Shamator achieved 95%, Noklak
92.09%, and Tuensang lagged behind with 72.48%. In the Science stream,
Mokokchung district topped with 87.87%, whereas Wokha and Kiphire had 42.46%.
In the Commerce stream, Peren and Tuensang secured 100%, while Mokokchung
lagged behind with 59.62%.

- Governor’s Awards and certificates were given to 88 student
toppers of HSLC and HSSLC, 28 heads of institutions, 22 subject toppers, eight
government school students, 10 students from eastern Nagaland districts, and
six students who received the Governor’s Excellence Award in Science Study of
the HSSLC examination.
- In the absence of the governor, Yhome read out his speech,
urging the students to reflect on the context of their success and reminding
them that peace, stability, and access to education are gifts that must never
be taken for granted.

- He also reminded them that they are the nation builders of
tomorrow, and as they step onto higher rungs on the ladder of life and
education, they must remember that academic brilliance is just the foundation.
- He encouraged them to channel the knowledge they acquire and
the values they uphold towards solving real-world problems, driving growth in
Nagaland and across India, and building a nation that is prosperous, just, and
globally respected. He added that academic excellence is the first crucial
investment in this national mission.
- Further, he advised the students never to lose sight of the
immense power they hold as future leaders of the nation and urged them to
embrace their role as nation-builders with passion and purpose. He emphasised
the importance of being conscious leaders, not only in their chosen professions
but also in their communities, as champions of equality, environmental
stewardship, and social harmony.
- Ajay Moktan (P) gave an inspirational talk, challenging the
students to be mentally prepared for the challenges that lie ahead in their
future. The toppers of NBSE, Lungyithangle Nring, and HSSLC toppers Vekhono
Senotsu (Arts), Arti Kumari (Commerce), and Snigdha Mukherjee (Science) also
delivered short speeches during the award ceremony.
