Dimapur, April 13 (EMN): Nagaland’s Governor PB Acharya has conveyed greetings marking Bihu, Vishu and Baisakhi festivals, to the Assamese, Malayali, and the Punjabi community in the state.
A message from the Raj Bhavan conveyed the wishes to the communities on Friday.
In the message the governor stated that the festivals shall be a ‘harbinger of a new dawn.’ He hoped for warm and harmonious relationship, peace, prosperity and progress in the state. These festivals are cultural identities of different states and should keep them alive, the governor added.
The celebration of these festivals would ‘reinforce love and goodwill’ among the people, he stated. It will strengthen the bond of unity, and brotherhood among them. He also encouraged them to take a pledge for a ‘swachh (clean), samriddhi (prosperity), and shashakt Bharat (forceful country).’
‘The festivals celebration will strengthen the age-old friendship and camaraderie among the people cutting across ethnicity, caste, creed and religion in the state,’ the governor added.
